Cairina moschata x Anas platyrhynchos
Status: Rare casual spring and fall visitor central and east.
Records: There are five records from three locations:
8 Apr 2023 Pier Park, Hall Co (Keeshan, Flohr; eBird.org)
7-11 May 2022, Deep Well WMA, Hamilton Co (Flohr, eBird.org)
28 Nov 2021, Pier Park, Hall Co (Flohr, eBird.org)
6-17 Dec 2023 Glenn Cunningham Lake, Douglas Co (Sam Manning, eBird.org)
8 Jan 2022, Pier Park, Hall Co (Flohr, eBird.org)
Comments: This is a common hybrid in park settings where domestic Mallards and their variations are maintained and habituated to humans through being fed by the public. The records cited above will no doubt be eclipsed by many more as observers take the time to report them.
