The Birds of Nebraska – Online added a new species account following Karen Kader’s astounding discovery of a Limpkin in Sarpy County on 23 June. The Limpkin has been seen and enjoyed by many since the initial discovery. A Limpkin in Nebraska would have been unthinkable just a few years ago, but this species has undergone a rapid and dramatic change in its distribution that is likely a consequence of the species’ interactions with invasive snails.
